“Corpus Christi is a fine school. We have 2 children who have been there for several years. The teachers are very committed to these kids. Lets face it they are not there for the money, they obviously care about the future generations. ] We have noticed some problems with the admnistration, but have also seen strides to make this better. Parents need to remember that no school is perfect. Each and every school has their realm of problems. This school is still far better that any of the public schools in the area.”

“Shame on the principal at Corpus Christi! I have never heard anyone as belittling, loud and unprofessional towards children as when I attended a public function at the school and this woman continuously screamed at the children at the top of her lungs. And a whistle? Who does this...honestly! The teachers and the principal are at odds with each other consistently. Thank God for parental involvement or nothing would ever get done at this school. No wonder the enrollment is down 50 plus students! Of course the school board is stating that this may be due to economical reasoning. Delusional, as well. Parents are pulling their children out of this school because from the administration on down the test scores are plummeting! My condolences and sympathy to the parents and student of this once fine school. Christ the King, Holy Cross and Pius are much better choices for your children.”

“My child has been a student at Corpus Christi for 2 years and things have gone down hill. The school seems to be in a constant state of turmoil since we arrived. With St. Pius opening for the 08-09 school year, the staff and the Principal need to get their head out of the sand and try to repair the damage that has been done.”

“My daughter attended Corpus Christi for 2 years. The first year was not bad, but she started having trouble with reading and reading comprehension. This was in first grade. The teacher was very helpful, gave us material to work on during the summer and was available whenever we had questions on how to best help our daughter. Unfortunately, in second grade we weren't as lucky. Rather than recognizing a problem with her reading skills, her teacher labled her as 'ADD' which we had her tested by her pediatrician and the pediatrician said that the teacher had no idea what she was talking about. My daughter was diagnosed with a mild form of dyslexia and after recieving no help from Corpus Christi we transfered out. We constantly felt like we were asking, almost begging for help from them and we felt like they just wanted us out. It was ridiculous.”

“This is my 1st year here. I am very disappointment with the leadership (Principal) which is the school to go down hill. In the past two years the test scores have been going down. We had a meeting with parents to address our concerns. Staff and Admin refuse to work with parents and commit to soluations provided. I as hoping to keep my child there for the whole 8 years. We are now looking for another school.”

“I had my children at this school, and while there are many things good about it, there are some terrible things that happen there too. Teachers try to exclude students with disabilities from activities, teacher sometimes unfair, and belittle students that aren't from the 'social elite'. Couldn't wait for my kids to be out of there.”

“My son is graduating from 8th grade this year and I will be enrolling my youngest in preschool for the 07-08 school year. The cost is substantial, however, I do feel this was the best investment I could have made in my sons' education. Every teacher was helpful in their own unique way, and made it a point to make sure that each child was kept on task, regardless of the child's individuality. Every school has its pros and cons; but overall, Corpus is a great school, and Fr. Cam truly does care about his student body.”

“My children have been at Corpus Christi since they were in 3 year old pre-school. They are now both in middle school. This school, without question has been the best thing I have done for my children. The teachers in every grade have been exceptional. They are all caring, kind people who have my child's best interest at heart. The school is one of the only CATHOLIC schools in South Bend that still has the children attend mass on a regular basis, at least twice a week. This is due to the leadership of our Parish Priest, who truly has a love of his 'children' and cares deeply about the spiritual development of each one of them. I could go on and on about the wonderful experience my children have had here. Is it perfect, no, but is any school? Bottom line, Corpus Christi is GREAT!”

“This is the best school in the South Bend/Granger area. My daughter is in 2nd Grade and thriving. Great structure, teachers, parents, etc.. Christ the King also has a good reputation, although Corpus has smaller classes, better academics, and far exceeds with their athletic programs.”

“Both of my children attended and graduated from Corpus Christi School. The schoool is fully accredited with North Central Association. I have had the honor and privilege of teaching at this school for eighteen years so I have first hand knowledge of the workings of this school. Our school is committed to providing the best education in a Roman Catholic setting that is possible. One must understand that we receive no operating funds from the government. We rely heavily on our tuition to run our school. We are very appreciative of any additional monies that become available. We are also committed to keeping tuition affordable so that our school remains a catholic (meaning available to all) Catholic school, not a school only for the wealthy. In response to another letter, there are two m's in Mecca.”

“Corpus Christi is a meca for those with money. Although the teachers are geniunely concerned with your child, the overall school is so connected with the church that money is the main issue at all times. The priest running the church will talk down to your children and to you if you cannot afford to give the money they think you should. Those who are rich or send many kids to the church will not have to worry about a zero tolerance policy because they will always be excluded in order to keep money coming to the church. If you are middle income be prepared to be embarrassed and have your children ridiculed.”
